THE SYNTHWERKS FORCE SENSING RESISTOR (FSR) FAMILY
Synthwerks currently offers five modules employing Force Sensing Resistor technology. These modules produce an adjustable control voltage that is proportional to the pressure applied to their sensing pads and also an independent pressure activated gate signal.
FSR-4 Classic and FSR-4 MkII
The original Synthwerks modules based on Force Sensing Resistor technology are the FSR-4 Classic and FSR-4 MkII modules. They are identical in function but offer the choice between through hole and socketed parts in the Classic version, and a shallower profile and surface mounted devices (SMD) in the MkII.
FSR-4C/B
The FSR-4C/B is a multi-panel module combining the control section of a FSR-4 MkII with a separate panel of four larger 1.5” square FSR sensors. This separate panel is connected via a ribbon cable allowing its placement above, below, or on either side of the main control panel.
FSR-1N
The FSR-1N is a single channel Force Sensing Resistor module that only takes up 4HP of panel space. This is the ideal starting module to learn the advantages of using the FSR as a modular synthesizer controller.
FSR-2P
The FSR-2P is a passive module containing two separate, independant 1.5” FSR sensors. Each sensor is connected to two jacks, allowing level control of the signals passing through the sensor. This is a totally passive module and need no power.
